Unified Communications (UC) Federation eliminates the human latency in your business processes by reducing the time it takes for your employees to find, connect, and collaborate in real-time with experts and decision-makers across your business ecosystem. The NextPlane UC Exchange UC Federation Service supports a wide range of UC platforms including Microsoft Office 365, Lync 2013 and 2010, OCS 2007 R1 and R2; Cisco WebEx Messenger, Unified Presence Server (CUPS), and Jabber XCP; Unify (formerly Siemens Enterprise Communications) OpenScape; IBM Sametime; Google Apps; and OpenFire – to name a few.
There is more to presence than “Available,” “Away,” and “Busy.” For example, there are custom status messages and enhanced presence states. The enhanced presence capabilities of UC platforms collect detailed information about a user, such as “On the Phone” or “In a Meeting” and send this information as a presence status so that others can make informed choices about the best way to contact the user. UC Exchange not only supports all presence forms, it also conforms to each UC platform and to the various user level settings for interruption management, and presence access levels.
For UC platforms that support multi-user chat for federated domains, UC Exchange allows users to host and invite multiple federated participants into multi-user chat sessions. Federated users can see all participants, including their presence status, and view those who join or leave the session as if they were on the same platform.
Voice and Video Calling
For UC platforms that support conferencing across federated domains, UC Exchange enables users to host and invite multiple federated users into a voice conference session. Simply drag and drop federated participants into the session. All meeting participants can see each other’s presence status (joining or leaving the conference session) and simultaneously chat during the call as if they were on the same platform.
